The collection and retention of ELD data is mandated by the FMCSA Electronic Logging Device Rule (49 CFR Part 395). Carriers are required to maintain ELD records for a minimum of 6 months. ERETH ELD processes this data in compliance with applicable federal motor carrier safety regulations.

ERETH ELD exposes a REST API at https://eretheld.com/admin-panel/api/v1 that authorized third-party platforms may use to retrieve carrier ELD data. When a carrier enables API access for a third party:

ELD records are retained for a minimum of 6 months on the ELD device as required by 49 CFR 395.8(k), and an additional 6 months in cloud storage (12 months total). GPS and telematics data is retained for up to 12 months. Engine hours and odometer records are retained for the carrier subscription period plus 2 years. Account data is retained for the duration of your carrier agreement and 2 years thereafter. API access logs are retained for 12 months.

All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS 1.2+). Portal access is protected by authenticated sessions. ELD device communications are secured per FMCSA technical specifications for certified ELD systems.
